Summer Wedding Style & Beauty Tips

Categories: Beauty,Fashion

Summer wedding season is almost here, are you ready? I have an abundance of dresses in my wardrobe (my hubby would say too many) so for me, it’s just a matter of choosing the right one for the occasion. For others, a summer wedding might mean an expensive trip to the mall and a stressful styling situation. When Fashion Magazine asked the Style Panel experts for summer wedding style tips, I was ready to take on the challenge – dresses are kinda my thing!

Summer wedding season is upon us and while weddings can be fun to dress for, they can also be nerve-wracking in terms of dress-code, location, modesty, colour, etc. What are your tips?

Featured in Wedding Bells Magazine!

Categories: Lifestyle,Wedding

As I browsed countless bridal magazines leading up my to wedding last September, I dreamed about my special day, but never once imagined that my own photos would appear on these pages one day for other brides to enjoy! With so many bridal mags on the shelves, I have always favoured Wedding Bells Magazine because they’re a Canadian publication with an amazing Real Weddings component.

So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn that they’d be featuring my wedding in their latest issue!!!

Back in February of 2012 (while I was on my Honeymoon oddly enough), a lovely Editor at Wedding Bells reached out to me and my photographer Leanna Gosse of Lee Weston Photography about the feature.  After completing the photo selection process with Leanna, a fun phone interview with me and a few months of waiting – the feature is finally here! Twisted Crystals + CONTEST!

For or my wedding jewelery, I wanted simple drop earrings, a sparkling cuff bracelet, an elegant hair accessory and a jeweled belt with a vintage look.
I looked through magazines and websites for inspiration, but I decided to go custom with an Etsy shop called Twisted Crystals. Kacey and I exchanged emails for weeks going over my colours, materials and budget. She was incredibly helpful and the end results were stunning! I fell head over heels in love with the silver jeweled belt she created to match my bridesmaids dresses – it was the perfect complement to my dress, defining my waistline and sparkling no matter which way the light hit it.

Comprised of vintage Swarovski crystals, German glass crystals, fresh water pearls and dainty seed beads – my custom belt is a work of art! I wanted the beading on mine to go all the way around my waist with a hidden closure at the back, but they can be finished with a sash or a bow and with as much or as little beading as you like.
