Dainty Discovery: Address Apparel

Categories: Fashion

I’ve made a Dainty Discovery! I have more dresses than anything else in my wardrobe and I’m so happy to add this stunner from Address Apparel to my collection! It’s the epitome of a dainty dress with a fitted bodice, full skirt and a beautiful spring floral print. It’s elegant and playful all the same time and it’s the perfect dress for the season!

Toronto-based designer, Mark Foreman, has been a passionate player on the Toronto fashion scene since 1998. He created a name for himself with Bionic, popular for its wrap dresses and bold prints, and Address Apparel is his latest venture with fellow designer, Kelly A. Blair. Together, they have successfully tapped into the wants and needs of women with figure flattering shapes and fabrics in both classic and modern styles. I love how they pay homage to Toronto streets with the dress names too!

Getting to Know: Future Husbands Music

My favourite things: Fashion, Music and Food. When I met Allison Dunnings last year I knew we would hit it off. By day, she manages social media for one of my favourite Toronto boutiques, Fresh Collective and designs her own boho-chic jewellery line. By night, she’s a passionate singer/songwriter with a penchant for classic rock and bearded musicians. AND she can tackle a table full of Singapore street food with me at Hawker Bar while still looking absolutely gorgeous. My kinda girl.

Future Husbands

Our crazy schedules and equally big dreams mean we rarely get to spend quality time together, but when I heard she was FINALLY diving into her music career I was thrilled and inspired by her drive to make it happen. So far, she’s released a single (A Home Without a Heart) and her mission is to produce the debut EP for her latest musical project:FUTURE HUSBANDS.

Future Husbands

Studio time and post-production doesn’t come cheap so in addition to working 7 days a week, to save up, Allison has launched an exciting Indiegogo campaign. There are only 13 days left and I want to help her reach her goal! She’s got fun perks lined up for contributions as low as $2, so check it out and if you can spare a few dollars to make a dream come true please do so!

To help you feel the love for this girl as much as I do, check out my interview below and enter to WIN a custom bracelet designed by Allison!

Hair on the Avenue: The Beast Within

A couple of months ago, my friends at Hair on the Avenue invited me on set for an exclusive behind the scenes glimpse at The Beast Within. This innovative salon is always coming up with exciting ways to share the latest hair trends – last year they produced a short film and this year, they decided to create a photo novella inspired by 1960′s pop art.

Salon Founder, Luis Pacheco, first told me about the concept while I was in his chair having my first ombre experience. I was instantly captivated by the idea and was thrilled to join the Hair on the Avenue team on set for an afternoon at The Shangri-La Toronto.

Hair on the Avenue

Synopsis: The Beast Within is the tale of a vengeful mistress whose innocence and core is manipulated by an alluring, yet suffocating taste of luxury. In the absence of honest love, she is left with only one choice: to regain power and reclaim her soul.
