I’ve been looking for a pair of citron jeans for a few weeks so I was thrilled when I spotted them at Ann Taylor! The latest shipment of goodies to hit stores includes cropped jeans in a beautiful variety of fresh spring colours including pastels and floral prints.
Citron is such a cheerful colour for spring that transitions well into summer. You can style it with a wide variety of other colours, but I decided to tap into the monochrome trend for my look!
You don’t have to wear one solid colour to embrace the monochrome trend. When I saw this white blouse with a subtle citron floral print, I knew it was the perfect complement to my jeans.
This season, Vince Camuto is all about striking colours, eye-catching details and bold design innovations. I love how they’ve taken the black and white trend and added hints of lime green!
In addition to an absolutely stunning core collection, I’m excited for the launch of their new casual collection – Two by Vince Camuto. It’s a denim-based line of trendy yet versatile must-haves – including printed and dip-dyed denim, fashion shorts, western style shirts and mixed media tops that blend contemporary styling with effortless wearability. With a fresh fit, chic finishing touches and quality execution, the Two by Vince Camuto collection offers refined casual-wear at attainable prices.
“We’re excited to offer today’s modern woman a perfect blend
of effortless styling and downtown chic.”- Vince Camuto
Two by Vince Camuto strikes the perfect balance of casual-chic for my action packed downtown lifestyle! I can still make a statement with bold colours, clever layering and trendy details without sacrificing comfort and cost.
As their Toronto Style Expert, my friends at Vince Camuto have provided me with a chic cobalt blue blouse and tasked me to style it for spring at one of my favourite local hotspots!
Today’s Dainty Outfit features one of my Boxing Week purchases and it’s the first Dainty Outfit of the New Year! It was love at first sight when I laid eyes on this sequin bomber jacket at Zara. Who doesn’t love sequins?! Colourful sequins AND beads in a casual bomber style – it’s a fashion girls dream!
This eye-catching, yet versatile jacket can be worn dressed-up or down. Today I’m wearing it with black skinny jeans and moto boots, but imagine it with a cute little LBD, a leather skirt, cigarette pants (all colours) or even a gauzy white summer dress!
*Swoon*
For a more dressed-up look, I tried this outfit with my silver studded pumps and it looked great. After a week off and most of it spent in pajamas, I opted for my comfy moto boots to ease back into big girl clothes
I chose fairly simple yet sparkly accessories since the sequin bomber jacket is pretty flashy, but I had to wear my new Rebekah Price jewels! I recently picked up the highly coveted Rivoli necklace (in lavender) and a matching ring at RP’s annual holiday sale (held this year at Pomp & Pageantry) and I’ve been itching to wear it! Today’s colourful ensemble was the perfect fit, but I chose to wear the necklace as a bracelet instead!
Astonishingly, my half-moon manicure from The Ten Spot is still going strong – 4 weeks later! Sure it’s grown out, but the nude colour at the base makes it barely noticeable.
Hope you’re enjoying your first day back after the holidays! I for one had a rough time waking up this morning!
I’ve tried pretty much every kind of gel manicure there is, including the first gel formula by OPI called Axxium applied by the lovelies at The 10 Spot in Leslieville back in 2010. Gel polishes have come a long way in a short time – gone are the days of sticky formulas and harmful UV lights – the new class of gels are easy to apply and cure in 30 seconds with safe LED lamps!
OPI Axxium has now become OPI Gel Color and comes in regular nail polish bottles instead of little pots requiring a special brush. The formula is thinner and easier to apply which allows for nail technicians to get creative with gel NAIL ART!
Fun and colourful nail art has become so popular this year – everyone is doing it – but imagine having a nail art mani that lasts 3 weeks without chipping! I was thrilled when the ladies at The 10 Spot invited me in to try their Gel Nail Art services and one week later, I’m still enjoying my mani.
I enjoyed all the benefits of a regular manicure and then chose my gel colours and a design from the fun selection they offered. My skilled nail technician Christine is a pro at the half moon mani so I thought I’d try what she’s known for – but I’m sure she can do whatever designs you can dream up – in fact I even saw some Christmas trees and snowflakes for holidays!
Since gel manicures don’t chip, the only reason you’d want to remove them is because of the regrowth at the bottom of your nail. Christine wisely suggested using a light pink or nude colour for the bottom half so that regrowth would be virtually invisible! I chose a pale pink called Bubble Bath for the bottom and a rich holiday red called Malaga Wine for the top. I LOVE the combination and she was right – I can’t even see the regrowth yet! I’m betting this mani lasts me through the holiday season!
You can get an OPI Gel Color manicure at The 10 Spot for $50 and try some nail art add-ons ranging in price from $8-15 depending on whether you want an accent nail or full set. The price may seem steep, but remember that gel lasts up to 3 weeks so you’ll get a lot of wear out of this mani! Especially helpful over the holidays when we don’t have time to fix our nails!
Visit The 10 Spot to try OPI Gel Color nail art for yourself – the options are endless!
I love it when salons and services I trust come out with their own beauty products! One of my favourite beauty bars in the city, The 10 Spot, recently launched their own nail polish line called Get Nailed Lacquer.
This amazing new collection boasts strong, saturated colours, long-lasting wear and easy application – $12 per lacquer. Colours are classic and trendy, plucked from the runway and developed with customer feedback in mind. They’re made locally with absolutely NO formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or camphor and they’ve never been tested on animals.
Staying true to The 10 Spot‘s sexy service names, they’ve come up with some blush-worthy colour names too! I stopped by their Leslieville location as soon as I heard about these fabulous new products and picked up two colours:
I Don’t Even Know Your Name! – Sexy Hot Pink
Watch the Hair! – Sweet Creamy Lilac
But wait…there’s MORE! In addition to this sexy line of lacquers, they’ve also launched Get Nailed Microbeads ($6) so you can create your own textured looks and nail art – or as they would call it N’ART!
The best bang for your buck – DIY Kits that include one lacquer, the matching microbeads, mini manicure accessories and instructions – all for $20!
I picked up the microbeads to match my colours and did my own microbead accent nails at home! It was super easy and I think it looks great! I love that the microbeads are subtle yet still eye-catching. The textured and slightly raised accent nail looks really interesting next to normal shiny polished nails and sometime they catch the light and sparkle. I’ve seen a few people stare at them trying to figure them out and some ask if they’re little gems or crystals. Definitely a beauty addict conversation starter!
What do you think?
My only complaint – the microbead containers are too shallow and really full. It’s hard to open them without spilling. Even with the “please open carefully” warning in mind, I spilled them and post-mani, it was hard to put them back without spilling them again. I think a bottle shape would be better, or a deeper container with a little extra room.
Great products though! I love my mani and can’t wait to try the lilac “Watch the Hair!” colour! Hehe…love those names.
Have you tried the Microbead/Caviar Mani yet? You can visit The 10 Spot for a professional application using Get Nailed products or DIY at home! Get Nailed products are available for purchase online or in-store at any 10 Spot location.
