How to Wear: The Crop Top Trend

Categories: Fashion

Kudos to the girls who are brave enough to bare their midriff in full-fledged crop tops, but I just can’t bring myself to do it! Body issues aside (and we all have them), I spend five days a week in a corporate office so a crop top really isn’t a worthwhile investment for my wardrobe.

When Fashion Magazine asked the Style Panel experts to try the crop top trend on for size, I was hesitant at first, but came up with a dainty way to style it…

This season is all about the crop top, which is terrifying for most girls.
What are your tips for getting over the fear and how to wear it?

Crop Top

Even though I’m not a big fan of the trend, I do love the look of a crop top layered over a cute dress or paired with a high-waisted skirt.  Continue reading…

Spring Fling with Ann Taylor

Categories: Fashion,Featured

Okay, it’s more than just a fling. If you haven’t seen my excited Tweets and Facebook posts over the past few weeks, I’m SO thrilled to announce that I’ve partnered with Ann Taylor as a Brand Ambassador! Next up, shopping and cocktails with Kate Hudson? Girl can dream…

Ann Taylor

I’ve been a fan of Ann Taylor for years – falling for The New Ann on my NYC shopping trips, excitedly attending Canadian media previews when I started blogging and being one of the first to shop and share their Canadian store launch last fall! It’s such an honour to be able to work with this iconic brand and I can’t wait to share my fashion finds with you!

For my first look as Brand Ambassador, I wanted to highlight the classic and elegant Ann Taylor aesthetic with loads of spring colour. Continue reading…

Dainty Outfit: Pink and Polka Dots!

Categories: Fashion

Last week, when it was -15 with the wind chill here in Toronto, I wore an open shoulder pink blouse and a pleated mini skirt with polka dots! You may think I’m crazy, but I had picked out my outfit the night before, realized the frigid temperatures once I woke up and just went with it! Trying to choose a new outfit in the morning can be chaotic and I just didn’t have time for that. I did of course  have time to grab a sweater and warm outerwear for my commuting needs :)

I’ve had these pieces in my closet for over a year, but I’ve never worn them together. At first I thought that the tunic-length of the blouse and the flared pleated mini skirt would result in an unflattering A-line shape, but I love the way it turned out! The length and billowy style of the blouse floated perfectly above the mini skirt and the sheer material allowed the cute little polka dots to peek through! Moo-moo risk averted!

I love the billowy boho-chic shape these pieces created together and the sweetness of pink and polka dots! I opted for silver accessories and contrasted the dainty with my favourite moto boots. I love those unexpected combinations that extend my wardrobe…this one’s a keeper!

What do you think of my pink and polka dots look?

Dainty Outfit: Sequin Mini Dress

Categories: Fashion

Last night I attended a Golden Globes viewing party at Soho House in Toronto with my hubby and some friends. I decided to bring a little Hollywood glamour with a sequin mini dress, soft waves in my hair and red lips. This sparkling little number has been sitting in my closet for quite some time just waiting for the perfect occasion and I’m so glad I finally got to wear it! Made of fitted purple velvet, this long-sleeved, v-back mini dress is thoroughly covered in silver sequins – resulting in a brilliant shimmering lavender colour.

Sequin Mini Dress

A sequin mini dress is loud enough, so I opted for black accessories and a simple pair of crystal drop earrings to complete my own red carpet look! I like the way the lace up platform booties bring a touch of casual edge to this glamourous look and I’m really loving the ombré in my hair! Stay tuned for my ombré post coming soon.

Dainty Outfit: Leather Sleeved Jacket

Categories: Fashion

Today’s Dainty Outfit features my new leather sleeved jacket from Danier. The combination of wool and leather is warm, edgy and chic! It can be worn as a coat/jacket on a milder day or a blazer indoors…today I’m wearing it as both! Since it’s not too cold outside, I chose to wear a silky blue sleeveless blouse underneath it so I can wear it outside and keep it on all day.

Leather Sleeved Jacket

This fully lined leather sleeved jacket is cozy and stylish, making a statement without the need to over-accessorize. I’m wearing it with basic black skinnies, riding boots and a bold silver necklace to finish the look.
