Did you know that LOFT has now opened a second Toronto location at the Eaton Centre? Late last month, my friends at LOFT invited me to check out this beautiful new store at an exciting launch event where I also got to shop their fun and colourful summer collection.

Stylish fashion industry and media gathered to enjoy a sneak peek the day before the grand opening at LOFT’s second Toronto location. Dressed in our spring best, we cooed over the summer goodies and fabulous deals to come.

In addition to shopping and catching up with some of my favourite local bloggers, my dear stylist friend Talia and I had the opportunity to meet and chat with the lovely Marilyn Denis of CTV’s The Marilyn Denis Show. Continue reading…

Dainty Discovery: Address Apparel

Categories: Fashion

I’ve made a Dainty Discovery! I have more dresses than anything else in my wardrobe and I’m so happy to add this stunner from Address Apparel to my collection! It’s the epitome of a dainty dress with a fitted bodice, full skirt and a beautiful spring floral print. It’s elegant and playful all the same time and it’s the perfect dress for the season!

Toronto-based designer, Mark Foreman, has been a passionate player on the Toronto fashion scene since 1998. He created a name for himself with Bionic, popular for its wrap dresses and bold prints, and Address Apparel is his latest venture with fellow designer, Kelly A. Blair. Together, they have successfully tapped into the wants and needs of women with figure flattering shapes and fabrics in both classic and modern styles. I love how they pay homage to Toronto streets with the dress names too!

How To: Job Interview Style

Categories: Fashion

Getting dressed for a job interview can be a pretty daunting task. Am I too dressed up or not dressed up enough? When FASHION Magazine asked the Style Panel about job interview style, I went to my wardrobe for something that exudes that “HIRE ME” kind of confidence!

How do you dress appropriately for a job interview? Everyone likes to be stylish, yet professional. What are your tips for balancing the two?

Job Interview Style

I’m Wearing – Dress: French Connection, Shoes: Aldo, Handbag: Kate Spade, Bracelet: Ann Taylor, Watch: Michael Kors

I had no idea how to dress for my first job interview so I went with the standard “white-collar” look – dress pants, a button up shirt and a blazer. I didn’t stand out, I felt awkward and there was absolutely none of my personality in that outfit.

Must Have: Little White Dress

Categories: Fashion,Featured

Move over little black dress – the little white dress is a summer staple! I love bold colours and wild prints for spring and summer, but every girl needs a fresh, simple and versatile white dress in their wardrobe. From super-feminine a-line frocks and bohemian tunics to modern sheaths and fitted body-con styles – there’s a little white dress for everyone.

As soon as I saw the Premiere Dress from the new Kate Hudson for Ann Taylor collection, I knew that this would be my little white dress for summer 2013.

How To Wear: Festival Style for Summer

Categories: Fashion,Featured

I love bohemian and free-spirited festival style for summer! Fringe, florals, crop tops, silk pants, maxi dresses and rompers – so many cute looks with endless accessory options. You can go all out with a feather headdress or tone it down with a messy braid and a fedora. When FASHION Magazine asked the Style Panel experts about festival style, I was ready to rock the challenge!

Festival style is a huge trend and people really turn it out for actual festivals, but how do you make it appropriate for every day and less like a costume?

Festival Style

At its core, festival style is all about being comfortable in the heat – a look that’s ready to take on the day from a picnic lunch to dancing under the stars. Even if you’re not heading to Coachella or Osheaga anytime soon, you can still rock festival style for summer in the city!
