Uncomplicated Beauty: Dalish Cosmetics

Categories: Beauty

One of the first local beauty brands I discovered when I started my blog was Dalish Cosmetics. Passionate Founder Melanie Cruickshank first began cooking up natural cosmetics in her Toronto kitchen in 2006 and it’s been an honour to work with her and watch her brand evolve over the years. From the first orders for friends and local trade shows to e-commerce and worldwide resellers – the proof is in the pretty for this Uncomplicated Beauty brand!

Dalish Cosmetics are still made in Canada with the same core values. Anti-oxidant rich makeup produced with locally sourced, natural ingredients without the use of parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, GMO’s, gluten or sulfates. Your skin will actually benefit from this makeup!

Spa at The Hazelton with WaySpa

Categories: Beauty

After an action-packed weekend at the second annual Spark Sessions conference, my feet were in desperate need of a little TLC. Luckily for them, I pre-booked a relaxing spa pedicure at The Spa at The Hazelton, which conveniently accepts WaySpa gift cards!

Spa at The Hazelton with WaySpa

As a WaySpa ambassador, I get to visit a different spa partner in Toronto each month. The Hazelton Hotel on luxurious Yorkville Avenue is considered Toronto’s most exclusive hotel – home to A-list celebrities (especially during TIFF) and ONE Restaurant with renowned Executive Chef, Mark McEwan. Needless to say, I knew I was in for a treat visiting their spa!

WIN the Redken Canada Runway Look

Categories: Beauty

It’s always a pleasure to watch the magic happen behind the scenes at World MasterCard Fashion Week. Designers, models, hair stylists and makeup artists working together like a well-oiled machine for that big moment on the runway and then…wash, rinse, repeat for more than 20 shows over five fashion-filled days! It’s enough to make your head spin, but the pros at Redken Canada make it look easy and always share their tips, tricks and trends to try at home.

WIN the Redken Canada Runway Look

This season, my friends at Redken Canada invited me backstage again to watch their stylists (and fabulous products) in action, lead by Lead Stylist, Jorge Joao.

Connected Collection: More Napzzzz

Categories: Fashion

You know what I need more of? Naps. You too? I designed this sweatshirt for my Connected Collection with eLUXE to encourage More Napzzzz all around! I burn the candle at both ends far too frequently, so this is a friendly (and oh so cozy) reminder to take a little downtime for myself. The relaxed fit, raw-neck and super soft 100% cotton composition make it the ideal shirt for lounging at home, binging on Netflix, cuddling with someone special and of course, napping.

Connected Collection: More Napzzzz

Even though this top begs to be paired with some adorable pajama bottoms at home, you can spread the More Napzzzz movement outside of the house too! Just like the rest of my Connected Collection, this sweatshirt can be styled various ways – and yes, even dressed up!

World MasterCard Fashion Week Outfits

Categories: Fashion

Late last month I attended the Spring/Summer 2015 runway shows at World MasterCard Fashion Week in downtown Toronto. It’s always a crazy week between my day job, blogging and running to the tents for the shows at night – but it’s worth it to support our local designers.

Great Canadian fashion on the runway is what brings us to the tents, but I LOVE taking in the fabulous street style outside the tents and I’m excited to recap my own outfits with you!

World MasterCard Fashion Week Outfits

I attended shows on four out of the five days and endeavoured to #WearCanada in some way each day. Even though the runways teased us with spring and summer fashion, fall is in full swing and the temperature in the tents can be unpredictable – my looks are all about layers!
