Dainty Outfit: Moon Crepe Dress

Today’s Dainty Outfit is perfect for my first day of fashion shows! Today kicks-off Toronto Fashion Week(s) with the shOws and The Collections. I’ll be attending Day 1 of the shOws wearing this simple yet stunning crepe dress by Moon Apparel. This classic silhouette features an elegant cut out back with snap button closure and bracelet length sleeves with adorable tulip cuffs. The double crepe material is soft, comfortable, warm and the loose cut flatters every figure. I love it!

I accessorized the crepe dress with mixed metal accessories including my new tri-colour necklace from BCBG. I love the gold, rose gold and gunmetal round snake chain against the simple navy dress – the perfect statement piece!

Dainty Outfit: Flounce Back Flirty

I’m always drawn to dresses with interesting back details. At first glance this colourful printed BCBGeneration dress is sweet, but the open flounce back brings flirty feminine appeal to this otherwise simple dress. I bought this perfect summer frock from Macy’s while I was in Chicago two weeks ago and I have worn it for both work and play since!

This fully lined rayon dress is soft and comfortable with a loose pullover style, elastic waistband and two front pockets. The v-neckline, low cut open flounce back and rounded hem are eye-catching and cute!

For work on a hot day, I wore it with my long crochet vest from Smart Set to cover the open back in the office. I also tried it on with a black blazer and pumps for another cute office look on a cooler day. For my day trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, I wore it au naturale with minimal accessories and enjoyed the breeze through the open back! Definitely one of my favourite dresses of the season!

 

Dainty Outfit: Sweetheart Stripes

Today’s Dainty Outfit is one of my favourite summer work-dresses. It’s a soft and slinky jersey knit dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA featuring black and ivory stripes and a gently pleated, fully lined skirt. The most alluring detail of this dress (and my favourite part) is the sweetheart seam at the bust where the stripes end and the black v-neck t-shirt top begins. It’s an incredibly flattering neckline that strikes a trendy balance between dressy, sexy and casual.

Since stripes are pretty busy, I decided to keep my shoes and purse neutral with nude wedges and a matching tote, both from Aldo. I chose my chunky mixed metal, multi-strand necklace by Charlotte Hosten from Elle Hardware and a gold/black woven chain bracelet from Jacob. The gold and black jewellery looks great with the ivory and black stripes!

Topped it all off with soft coral lips and bold orange nails on my hands and toes – loving the chunky gold glitter topcoat!
