We’ve all heard it – that old fashion rule that says you can’t wear white after Labour Day. Well my friends, if you haven’t already, it’s time to ditch that rule! The Fall 2015 runways featured a variety of head-to-toe white and ivory looks, proving that this typically reserved for summer shade is not only appropriate, but so fresh and chic for the fall or winter season.

Not sure how to tackle the trend? Stay away from summery fabrics like lace or linen and reach for winter white denim, wool or leather for weather appropriate white after Labour Day style.
When I saw this boxy blouse at Aritzia, it was the stunning yellow colour that grabbed my attention – not the shape. The relaxed and seemingly shapeless silhouette definitely requires some imagination when you see it on the hanger, but as soon as I slipped it on – I was sold.
The beautiful woven fabric with a crepey texture drapes and moves beautifully for a figure flattering effect – not so shapeless for a boxy blouse after all!
Having just returned from Osheaga, I was inspired to share a slightly more dressed up version of the popular summer music festival style. This feminine and floral swing dress by Australian label MINKPINK features sheer panels and leather cap sleeves for a little edge.
Dress: MINKPINK, Shoes: Le Chateau, Clutch: Ann Taylor, Bracelet: Leila Jewelry, Watch: Caravelle, Ring: Swarovski
I can style this easy breezy summer dress with flat sandals and a floppy hat during the day for an outdoor music fest and then switch into heels and a chic clutch for a night on the town.
I can always count on my friends at eLUXE to serve up some of the hottest summer dresses. When I saw this structured mini dress by Finders Keepers, I had to add it to my collection. I love the earthy colour palette with the unique mirrored print on classic white – so eye-catching!

The fitted bodice, modern neckline and racerback give this dress a sporty-chic look, but the full skirt with inverted pleats and pockets give it a classic feminine silhouette. The fabric is actually quite heavy so it retains its shape and won’t expose you on a windy day!
There are many things I love about summer fashion including coral and cutouts. Needless to say, it was love at first sight when I found this gorgeous coral cutout dress at Club Monaco. They’ve reinvented the classic fit-and-flare silhouette with bold waist cutouts, scoop sleeves, exposed back zipper and unique textured fabric that’s guaranteed to turn heads.
Dress: Club Monaco, Shoes: Le Chateau, Necklace: Liel & Lentz, Clutch: Ann Taylor, Bracelets: Stella & Dot, Watch: Caravelle New York, Ring: Swarovski
With a bold summer colour and contemporary style, this cutout dress is one of my new faves!
