This week, FASHION Magazine Style Panel experts were challenged to take a spring runway trend and translate it to reality.
How do you wear the metallic trend without looking like an astronaut?
CLICK HERE to see what I had to say.
I love metallic embellishments and accessories, but you won’t catch me gearing up for a lunar landing anytime soon! Even as iridescent spring ensembles hit the shelves, I still prefer the eye-catching texture of metallic accents. Heels and handbags, sparkly sequin toppers, coated denim, tone-on-tone metallic prints and my personal favourite – brocade.
Brocade is such a beautiful way to wear the trend without feeling over the top. I love this elegant brocade peplum blouse by Moon Apparel – gilded gold florals anchored with classic black make it an elegant yet versatile piece for work or play. For a chic going out look, I paired my metallic brocade top with textured leggings, black and gold jewellery, basic black pumps and an over-sized yellow leather clutch.
I topped it off with a pop of bold red lip colour and a smile! What do you think of my take on the metallic trend? How would you style it? Leave me a comment – I love hearing from you!

you definitely couldn’t go into space with this outfit…
Perfection!
Love it. Looking to find something gold (ish) for the Massive Party… also don’t want to look like an Oscar statue!
Thanks so much for the love ladies! It was love at first sight when I saw this brocade peplum online. It’s so elegant with just the right amount of metallic! xoxo
I hadn’t seen this top on you before – Love it (and very Connie)! And the purse is to die for. Nicely done!
