Yesterday afternoon I was invited to an exclusive media launch event for the new Rowenta Beauty hair tools! I had a fabulous time meeting other fashionistas and beauty experts, while sipping delicious cocktails from acclaimed mixologist Dave Mitton and of course…witnessing these amazing new products in action!
The event was held at The Harbord Room in downtown Toronto – an appropriately pink venue for such a girly affair! This sweet little lounge filled up quickly with local media, buyers and bloggers like me, every one of us anticipating the demonstration of these awesome new hair tools.
Rowenta Beauty has always been known for high end garment care tools, such as steam irons and garment steamers, but over the past five years they have developed quite a following in the fashion industry for hair appliances. The latest additions to the Rowenta Beauty family of products were launched last night and include:
- Curl Active: A revolutionary curling iron featuring a motorized curling system! Simply clip the bottom section of hair and allow this amazing tool to do the rest. I watched in awe as it curled sections of hair with the push of a button. Add to that the sleek design, ceramic coating and dual heat settings – this tool is a must have for glamorous salon quality curls!
- Double Straight: It’s all in the name – this 1 inch flat iron offers powerful straightening and stretching qualities for perfectly sleek, soft and shiny hair. Featuring nano-ceramic plates, a built in heated comb and an ionic generator to reduce frizz, this flat iron gives the perfect finish while protecting your hair from damage. It heats up to 450F within 30 seconds and also includes an LED temperature display.
And ladies – these tools live up to their claims. I watched as lead stylist Dee Dagher demonstrated the magic on two models making curly hair pin straight in seconds and bringing fine hair to life with soft, loose curls with ease. I’m SO excited to try them for myself!
Dee was generous with her hair advice beyond the tools; I left with a couple more nuggets of hair magic to share with you:
- Frizz is in! Who knew?! This is great news for me because I pretty much always sport a little frizz. I’m no Monica from Friends in the Bahamas, but I embrace my soft curls and the slight frizz that comes with them. Dee recommended amping up the frizz factor on straight hair by flipping your head over and teasing hair with a little hair spray. Do the same thing with curls, push up on curled section to tease and separate them prior to spraying. I love the way it looked on the models.
- Less is more when it comes to products. Too much product will weigh down your hair and your beautiful styling work won’t last as long. The Rowenta Beauty tools offer just the right amount of heat to lock in styles so you don’t have to use much product. Styles last longer and you don’t have to wash and blow dry as frequently.
