I’ve been a loyal fan of Pretty in the City Lash & Beauty Bar ever since they gave me swoon-worthy lashes on my wedding day last year. I was thrilled to be invited to their Beauty Blogger Preview last week to see what goodies they have lined up for summer.
Along with a handful of lovely bloggers, I enjoyed champagne, sweet treats and a complimentary manicure and makeover highlighting some incredible new products and services.
Who doesn’t love a little pampering on a Monday afternoon?!
I got my first Gelish manicure at Pretty in the City last year and they got me so hooked on these shiny and long-lasting manicures that I learned how to DIY at home to save money! They still offer Gelish, Shellac and regular OPI manis, but in addition to that, they’ve got amazing nail art skills! Just check out some of their manicures for inspiration or make a request.
I’ve been wanting to try caviar nails for a few weeks, so I jumped at the chance when I heard they were offering these trendy new manicures too! I decided to go with a bold purple-pink called Dim Sum Plum by OPI with one white caviar accent nail on each hand. I watched intently as my manicurist poured the microbeads over the second coat of wet nail polish, pressed them gently and sealed them in with a clear top coat.
So much easier than I thought! I will definitely be trying this myself at home. I don’t know if I’d do full-on caviar on every nail, but accent nails are eye-catching and with a little patience I could probably do some fun French tips with microbeads…
After my manicure, I moved over to the makeup chair for a fun summer makeover! Pretty in the City has offered makeup applications for a while, but did you know about their GlamourEyes service? They tap in to the hottest makeup trends of the season and offer a 30 minute party-ready application for just $25. This service focuses on eye make-up, including false lashes (if you want them), lips, blush/bronzer and light concealer/blemish correction.
I chose the Summer Smokey Eye look with an emphasis on contouring to create that smouldering, sexy, intense gaze with a gentle winged eyeliner – think Adele. I loved the finished look topped off with coral pink lips and a dusting of glo-minerals pressed powder – makes me want to brush up on my cream eyeliner skills!

Feeling pampered and pretty, I enjoyed mingling with some lovely beauty bloggers over champagne, cake pops and cupcakes! We buzzed about the fabulous products and services, the overwhelming temptation of baked goods and current events of course
