NYC Day 3: Union Square, East Village and Greenwich

NYC Day 3: Union Square, East Village and Greenwich. It’s a brisk but beautiful sunny day here in NYC so we took to this streets this morning to walk off all the guacamole from Dos Caminos in Soho last night! I didn’t have any shopping aspirations for today since I had such a productive day yesterday, but it was nice to window shop and explore other, less hectic neighbouhoods.

As mentioned in my NYC Shopping post, I really enjoy the laid-back vintage vibe of the East Village so today we walked south from Midtown in that direction.

On our way, we passed through Union Square which was hosting its weekly farmers and artisans market. It was fun to browse through the vendors and the unique food and product offerings. Just south of Union Square, starting at 14th and 1st is the East Village; we explored 1st Ave and St. Mark’s Place as I reminisced on my first visit to NYC when I stayed in this hood. Good memories!

On our way back north, we passed by Washington Square Park and into the lovely Greenwich Village and NYU territory. My friends mentioned a fun little puppy store called Le Petit Puppy specializing in miniature puppies nearby and of course I can’t resist a puppy, so we stopped in. My heart melted when I got to hold a couple of cuties!

After a wonderful 3 hour walk, we’re back at home relaxing until dinner time. Tonight we’re going to Eataly, the largest artisanal Italian food and wine marketplace in the world from famous chef Mario Batali. I fly home tomorrow night, but before I leave, I’ll be spending some time in another one of my favourite neighbourhoods: Soho! I’ll probably stop by the West Village too. Always save the best for last!

So cute! I can’t wait for you to get your puppy! It’s been too long since I’ve held one.
