Shining Image: Minling Pan Studio

Last week the lovely Valerie Stachurski of Charming Media hosted an intimate event at Minling Pan Studio (also known as Shining Image) near Yonge and Eglinton. This was my first experience with the store and I loved the opportunity to catch up with my favourite local bloggers and friends over a glass of wine and great shopping!

Minling Pan Studio

Founded by certified image consultant Minling Pan, Shining Image is all about colour, style and how they work together. Minling not only curates a colourful collection of fashion apparel and accessories, but she also offers consulting services and seminars, including colour analysis, wardrobe audits and personal shopping.

I love this business model because it blends professional services with a retail fashion environment – talk about full service image and style consulting! Throughout the evening, Minling provided complimentary colour consultations to her guests; I was too busy gabbing and admiring the jewellery to have mine done, but I’ll be heading back there soon to get her professional opinion. I think I know what colours look good on me, but it’ll be interesting to hear her take on it.

Shining Image is the exclusive Canadian  distributor for Hong Kong designer label A.Y.K. The styles are elegant and trendy with fresh colours, fun prints and creative details. I found myself wanting to take a few outfits home but I was laser focused on one particular necklace that I spotted online before the event – so thrilled to finally take it home! Isn’t she gorgeous?! Such an edgy yet elegant statement piece – great price too!

In addition to offering colour consultations and chatting with her guests, Minling also shared a brand new collection of handbags she has designed and produced exclusively for Minling Pan Studio, called MIN. These bags were an absolute hit with bold colours, supple leather, edgy details and unique shapes. I especially loved a rich purple leather clutch covered in big gun-metal studs and on the opposite side of the spectrum, I loved a beaded crystal box clutch with a ring handle – two in one!

This exclusive line of handbags designed by Minling herself will be available to purchase at Minling Pan Studio within the next 3 months and I highly recommend checking them out! I had such a great time with my blogger friends, especially when we hit the photo booth with cute little props!

In honour of Valentine’s Day, Minling is offering a 20% discount to shoppers who take a sweet photo in their on-site photo booth during the month of February! If you can’t make it in store, you can also shop online anytime.

Special thanks to Valerie and Charming Media for throwing such a great event and Minling Pan Studio for being such a lovely host! Shout outs to my blogger babes – Anum (Summerxskin), Elaine (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Carlyann.com, StephanieFusco.com, BiancaTee, Jamie-LeighTO, Vanessa (My Pen, My Voice) Tiffany (She’s So Savvy) and Ria in the City – I had a great time shopping with you  :)

Thanks for the shout out :) It was great to get some time to chat with you without having to yell over music at an event! You got one of the best necklaces too!
I’m seriously going to have to head back soon. A few of my friends want to check out the store so I’ll be heading north of Bloor again soon!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for reading the blog! My dress is from Urban Outfitters, but unfortunately I purchased it last year so it may not be available now. I love it too though…soft, loose and comfy, yet feminine and floral with great colours! xo

I’m looking forward to reading your posts! Was over at stephaniefusco.com and thought I’d pop over. Sigh….miss my university days and urban outfitters nearby! Good reminder though to check out their site!
