Jewels + Faux Leather at Forever 21

I know that I can always count on Forever 21 for a wide selection of trendy pieces and budget friendly basics. Every once in a while, I find something that makes me pinch myself – “Am I really getting THIS for THAT price?!” Meet my new faux-leather bejeweled shift dress

Dress: Forever 21, Blazer (shown below): Forever 21, Shoes: Le Chateau, Clutch: Danier (similar), Necklace: Ann Taylor, Bracelet: Ann Taylor, Watch: Caravelle New York

This dress would stand out to me in any store – fully lined and super soft faux-leather, bejeweled and beaded with stunning colours and a cross pattern – hard to believe it’s just $54 CAD!

I love the effortlessly chic shift shape with a round neckline, exposed back zipper and mini length. It’s the perfect dress for a night out in the city!

Since the dress is black, I chose to wear sheer tights so that my legs didn’t just blend in with the dress. I love the way these ankle strap pumps from Le Chateau stand out too!

I continued the bejeweled theme with my accessories. Smokey stones and rose gold pop against the faux leather and the hot pink clutch plays up the colourful embellishments on the dress.

Finally, I added this oversized blazer (also from Forever 21) in a soft blush colour and smooth modal fabric. I love the wide lapels, patch pockets and the way it almost hits the hemline on the dress. Pastels are hot for spring so this is a great transitional piece too!

What do you think of the look? It brings together some of my favourite winter trends (leather and jewel tones) with a spring trend that I can’t wait to stock my wardrobe with (pastels).

Spring…so close, yet so far!

Amazing price on that dress and it is very cute. Even the blazer was not badly priced. You are obviously a good shopper. I am always amazed by some of the spreads in the fashion magazines. One time they had an outfit in a Canadian magazine (which I will not mention here) that was supposed to be for a person who worked in a retail store. It was a really tasteful outfit but when you added up the pieces it came to $1,500 before taxes -hardly affordable for what a person in a retail store is paid. Great that you show something that is affordable.

Hi Shelley! Thanks for your comments and I’m glad you enjoy the looks I put together for the blog. As much as I love high-end brands, they’re rare splurges for me and I like to share clothes that are attainable to the everyday reader. Thanks for your kind words :)

Great dress and I love the shoes! Saw a similar pair on Atlantic-Pacific, but I’m definitely going to check out Le Chateau for a pair here šŸ˜€

Thanks Natalie! These shoes are fabulous for the price – they were still in store right after the holidays when I purchased them so you might get lucky! I know they’re available online too :)
