As someone who has worked from home for the past three years, it’s been a while since I’ve worn a suit or a blazer + skirt/slacks combo. When I worked in the financial services industry, I wore this “uniform” 4-5 days per week for nearly 6 years! As much as I love the comfortable and casual style that my current job affords me, sometimes I miss the opportunity to get dressed up like this. When my friend and fabulous Toronto-based designer Rachel Sin asked me to show off my “Desk to Drinks” style with her SS’16 collection, I jumped at the opportunity to play professional dress up once again!
I’ve never been a big fan of dress pants, mostly because I can never find the right fit for my narrow waist and wider hips. For that reason, I often wore pencil skirts with blouses and blazers or dresses at the office. The Sky High Skirt and matching blazer from Rachel Sin is the perfect office outfit for the spring/summer season.
This stretchy, high-waisted pencil skirt has a slimming and leg-lengthening slit to provide just enough sexy curve appeal to take you from desk to drinks without having to make a costume change. Take off the blazer to reveal the chic and sleeveless Surplice Tank and you’re ready for a night on the town – this effortless and transitional style is exactly what Rachel Sin is known for.
What do you think of this summer suit style from Rachel Sin? Would you take it from desk to drinks this summer? See more #RSDeskToDrinks looks on Twitter or Instagram and stay tuned for another look we’ve partnered on later this summer.
