My friends at American Eagle Outfitters recently challenged me and two blogger friends (Katelyn and Alex) to style their boho tops for the season. When I first saw this lacy AEO Crocheted Tank, I immediately thought of summer music festival style. It would look perfect with denim cut-offs or over a little floral dress, but it can be styled for fall too.
I’m all about making the most of my wardrobe with transitional style and luckily for us, the weather in Toronto is still perfect for those summer staples with a little layering when needed.
This boho top is lacy (and quite sheer), but if you’re layering it under a blazer, I think it’s fine to wear it with a bra in a contrasting color. I wore a lacy black bralette underneath and layered a long camel blazer on top. I love this combination of earth tones contrasted by classic 1981 GUESS High Rise Skinny Jeans in a dark indigo rinse.
I added multi-strand gold necklaces, a black leather bag with gold detailing and my new black ankle booties from Le Chateau. I love the combination of suede and smooth leather on these boots with eye-catching gold buckles. Their boots are amazing this season!
What do you think of my fall styling for a summer style boho top? See more on the AEO blog!
I think it’s the perfect look for Sunday brunch or a casual date night. You can also wear a cami under the blouse and swap the jeans for dress pants for a great office look.
